Founded in 2000, Santa Barbara Graduate Institute (SBGI) offers a range of specialized master’s and doctoral degrees that prepare students to be outstanding health and human service professionals, integrating the best of traditional treatment methodologies with the best of alternative approaches to health and healing. We teach our students to approach their work and their clients from a holistic perspective, recognizing that our minds and our bodies are inextricably linked, that our physical well-being impacts our mental well-being, and that we must therefore consider the whole client - body, mind, and spirit -if we are to effect deep and lasting impact on people’s lives.

SBGI is an affiliate of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, the nation’s oldest and largest nonprofit graduate school dedicated exclusively to psychology and related behavioral health sciences. Santa Barbara Graduate Institute is approved by the California Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education and the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Our partner institution, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and an active member of the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology.
